A Branford woman was arrested Thursday for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and felony child endangerment after ramming a car driven by her boyfriend that contained the couple’s three children, sheriff’s reports show.
Amanda Denise Lawrence, 26, got into a verbal altercation with boyfriend William Davis at the S & S Food Store in Lake City around 12:30 p.m., say authorities. Davis then left the store in a gold Saturn driving south on CR 247 toward Beachville with their three children, ages two, three and five. Lawrence followed in a purple Taurus and struck the rear of Davis’s vehicle at least three times, according to reports. Deputies say the incident was witnessed by passing motorists.
Davis reportedly told arresting officer Scott Senea that he hit the brakes repeatedly during the incident.
Lawrence has been booked into the Suwannee County Jail.
