SHS band director ready for the job

Stacey Gindlesperger, former director of bands at Bronson High, has been chosen as the new director at Suwannee High.

Gindlesperger, 29, who resides in Bell, received a degree in music education from the University of Tampa.

Gindlesperger said after teaching for seven years at Bronson, she believes Suwannee will be a place for her to grow professionally and have a greater impact on students. Gindlesperger replaces former director Cheri Copeland.

On Wednesday, Gindlesperger toured Suwannee High's campus and said she is in the process of preparing for summer band camp.

Superintendent Jerry Scarborough said Gindlesperger was chosen from among four applicants. He said he is pleased to have her join the school system.
