Arrest made in fatal motorcycle crash
A former Live Oak resident was arrested Friday in connection with a fatal Suwannee County motorcycle accident in May 2009.
Dennis Eugene Dewald, 47, now of Valdosta, was driving his motorcycle on CR 49 with a passenger, Stacy L. Holcomb, 40, also of Live Oak, when his motorcycle left the roadway and overturned at the intersection of 87th Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Holcomb died the next day at Shands UF. Dewald was hospitalized there with critical injuries.
Dewald has been charged with driving with a suspended license resulting in death or serious injury, and with having no driver's license for a motorcycle, jail records show.
