Mayo — The Lafayette High varsity volleyball squad (17-1) defeated Crescent City on Tuesday in Kissimmee to advance to the state championship game on Wednesday where they will take on the Baker Gators.

On Nov. 8, the Hornets played the Bell High School Bulldogs (16-11) in Mayo, 3-0.

The Hornets defeated the Bulldogs in the first three sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-14.

LHS played against the Trenton Tigers on Saturday in the 1A region 3 championship match and won 3-1. The Hornets had the first two sets 25-12 and 25-20. Trenton scraped by with a 25-21 score on the third set. The two battled it out for the fourth set with a 27-25 score.
