Front page news,Hines gets life while another man gets death.Something is wrong here. You do the math.

Why hasn't Suwannee County put a redlight in the school zone at Branford Elementary School on 247 yet? The blinking posted school zone signs are not slowing people down but a light would. The more parents that are bringing their kids to school increases the risk of accidents. Nine directions of travel doesn't make this a problem?

The constant bickering downtown reflects poorly on the community, kinda like D.C.! No wonder we fail to attract new investments & resources to a desirable area.Be they well meaning or not, this is a poster child for term limits in public "service", elected or app'ted, all levels of gov't. Career office seekers have become accepted over the past 40 odd yrs. Keep voting for 'em, switching the same old bunch around etc. The result is an uninspired leadership and a complacent electorate. How's it capable of improving and how long can we pay for this nonsense? It won't & we can't!

We need to review , update, amend ,or eliminate every rule, law, agreement, charter, by law, etc. made by every commitee, council, agency & or governing body in the past 50 yrs. across the board. It's a good place to start putting it back in the hands of "We, the people" instead of over paid, power drunk & under qualified officials.

The WMD has plenty of explanations, justifications & reasons for a very serious problem. Lacking is any acknowledgement of culpability on their part. They have a huge budget & vast resources with little accountability to taxpayers. They have been more focused on politics & real estate manipulation than preservation despite ample warning of this eventuality. Rather than declare a moratorium, they just granted 3 more individuals billions of a gallons of OUR water to expliot for profit & chocked it up as a good days work!

Did you realize that during the school day Pinewood Ave.'s speed limit in front of the schools is 20 mph and approximately 35 mph for the school buses going around the school track?

I'm getting really tired of people not using their headlights. It's not like it is going to take more gas to turn them on, and it just might save your life. If I can't see you when I'm pulling out onto the road, I might pull out in front of you. If I pull out in front of you cause I didn't see you because you don't have your lights on, I am not going to lay on the gas pedal. If however I see you because you have your lights on I will do the nice thing and accelerate fast enough so you don't need to slow down. So, in a hurry? then turn on your $#%@ lights.

It may not help the person with the four barking dogs, but if he will check with the county, or the city rather, I think he will find that it’s against the law to own more than three dogs in the city of Live Oak.

I would like to thank the person who had enough sense to call the police on Tuesday night when they saw a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on 51. My husband is a diabetic and his sugar had dropped. When that happened he had no idea where he was. He was lost. You not only saved his life, but possibly someone else’s if he had been in an accident. So thanks again and God bless you.
