LHS grad now an ABAC Ambassador

Mayo — Lafayette High School 2012 graduate Cecelia Koon is one of 17 students selected to participate in one of the most prestigious organizations on campus at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, the ABAC Ambassadors.

Koon graduated from LHS last June and went on to college in Tifton, Ga. this year to continue her education. She is now a freshman agriculture education major at ABAC.

The process of being selected to serve as an ambassador involved an application, letters of recommendation and an interview. Then college administrators chose the students they believed to be motivated and those who showed leadership potential.

Ambassadors assist the president, public relations and admissions, and represent and promote the college at a variety of community and college events. They also strive to maintain positive relationships between students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.

To continue in the ABAC Ambassadors, Koon must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and commit at least 35 hours per semester to her service as Ambassador.
