Live Oak —
An escaped inmate from Lancaster Correctional Institution in Trenton was caught shortly after in southern Suwannee County, according to Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron.
Preliminary details from Cameron state that the man was on a work detail this afternoon when he stole a van and made his escape. Shortly after, he abandoned the van to find another means of transportation, but Cameron said he was unsuccessful. He was hiding down toward the south end of Suwannee County crouched behind another vehicle when K-9 officers finally sniffed him out and he was apprehended by the authorities.
