Live Oak —
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper was responsible for a Thursday night minor wreck in Live Oak, the FHP reported.
FHP trooper Jason T. Clark, 37, was traveling southbound on US 129 (Ohio Avenue) in the right lane in a 2009 FHP marked Ford Crown Victoria approaching CR 136 (Duval Street). Clark reportedly failed to observe a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro stopped in the southbound lane of US 129 at the intersection of CR 136 and struck the rear of the Camaro.
FHP reported that Clark immediately checked on the driver, Sydney R. Gatewood, 15, and Kylie M. Giddens, 15, both of Live Oak, but they stated they were not injured. As a precaution, the pair were transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center.
Clark was not injured.
All three were wearing seatbelts, according to FHP.
Charges are pending a further investigation, FHP reported.
