Mayo —
State-assigned school grades were released this morning by the Florida Dept. of Education.
Lafayette Elementary School fell to a B from an A. Under new criteria which further discounts FCAT scores, the grade for Lafayette High, which received a B last year, won’t be released until November.
Lafayette's overall grade computed to a B, down from an A last year.
LES achieved Adequate Yearly Progress, a component of the federal No Child Left Behind program, but LHS did not.
School grades were released after an independent audit showed this year’s FCAT scores, called into question in many districts, were accurate, according to FDOE.
