Mayo Christmas parade is Saturday, Dec. 8

Mayo — The annual Mayo Christmas parade is tomorrow night, Saturday, Dec. 8. Line up will take place at 6 p.m. and the parade will begin at 7 p.m.

Remember, the parade route is a little bit different this year. Instead of ending up at Veteran’s Memorial Park, the route will be extended to the right by Lafayette State Bank, then back up Bloxham Street and over to Courthouse Square.

Santa’s mule-drawn sleigh will be there where the kids can get photos with Jolly Old Saint Nick. The Chamber of Commerce’s new sound system will be serenading the crowd with Christmas music throughout the evening.

The town of Mayo has been preparing for weeks for the annual Christmas festivities with holiday decorations adorning downtown Main Street. The Chamber this year is holding a decorating contest. First place best decorated business winner gets $100.
First prize for parade entries is $100, second prize is $75 and third place gets $50.
Also, the Mayo Woman’s Club Quilt raffle drawing will take place the same evening at Old Florida Company Coffee House. The winner need not be present to win.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
