A six-person (one alternate) jury found Donald Reid, Jr., 53, Willow St. Mayo, not guilty on charges of kidnapping, aggravated battery and witness tampering Dec. 6.
Reid was arrested on Sept. 20, 2005 when alleged victim Patricia A. Turner of Mayo accused Reid of abducting her from a friends house and forcing her to leave in his vehicle. According to Lafayette County Sheriff's Office Turner told officers that Reid caused injury to her before she threw herself out of the vehicle while it was still in motion.
Reid was arrested by LCSO Deputy Chris Land and posted bond but was arrested again on Sept. 23 when he violated bond by making contact with the victim.
