Jennifer Beach is the Exceptional Student Education teacher this year.
Graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Early Childhood Education Beach went on to gain a Masters Degree in Exceptional Student Education and a Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.
Beach taught kindergarten in Palm Harbor for three years and ESE Middle School at Lafayette High School for two years.
"I moved back to Palm Harbor and stayed home with my two sons, Jaxson, age 4 and Garrison, age 2 for two years before coming back to Mayo for my first year to teach at LES," said Beach.
She said her goal is to educate her students in a safe and challenging environment where they can reach their full potential.
This is Heather Laemmle's sixth year of teaching but her first at LES. Laemmle teaches Fourth Grade.
"I moved to Lafayette County from New Jersey in 1990, graduated from North Florida community College and Florida A&M;, and I love every minute of teaching," said Laemmle.
For the goal set for her students Laemmle said she uses the Sunshine State Standards as set forth by the state and strives to help her students master the skills needed so they will continue to be successful in future years. "In addition to academics, I want students to begin to develop a deeper understanding how important it is to treat all other people with kindness, fairness and respect," said Laemmle.
Kimberly Fletcher, a LES First Grade teacher, said her goal is to educate her students in a safe and secure atmosphere.
Fletcher lives in the Luraville/Clayland area.
She completed two years at North Florida Community College and graduated from Lee University, Cleveland, TN.
After completing her education with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary education from Florida A&M; University Ruby Turner returned to Lafayette County for her first year to teach.
She is currently teaching Fourth Grade.
"My teaching goal for my students is that they believe they can and will grow during the time that we are together," said Turner.
