The Lafayette County Historical Society is proud to announce the completion of a re-printing of “An Anthology”, written by Holmes Melton in 1973. The book in now titled “Lafayette County History and Heritage” and it’s all about the town of Mayo.
Books are on sale at the Dust Catcher on Main Street in downtown Mayo, as well as at the Suwannee River Rendezvous for $20. All proceeds will benefit the Lafayette County Historical Society’s museum project.
Vi Johnson, owner of the Dust Catcher and member of the Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, said, “The book has early 1800s information, pictures and maps.”
Copies of the book are limited, so get yours now while supplies last.
