Beulah Mae Wilder Sessions, 100, of Mayo, FL passed away Aug. 17, 2012 in the Good Samaritan Center at Dowling Park, FL. Mrs. Sessions was a native and lifelong resident of Mayo. She was born Oct. 17, 1911 to the late Charles Phillip Wilder, and the late former Alice L. Ezell. Mrs. Sessions was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended business school in Jacksonville, FL. She also worked for the Florida Legislature until she married and became a homemaker. Mrs. Sessions was of the Christian Faith and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and her church. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, reading, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.P. Sessions, a daughter, Judy Reddick, 8 brothers, Clifford, Cleo, Wilson, Durwood, Lawton, Foye, Charles, and Morris Wilder, and a sister, Frances Yates.

Mrs. Sessions is survived by, 2 daughters, Gloria Cobb, of Crawfordville, Fla, and Latrell Hardesty, and husband Tom, of Cincinnati, Ohio, 1 son, Terry Sessions, of Lakeland, FL, 1 sister, Annie McCullers, and husband Robert, of St. Mary’s, GA, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sessions will be conducted at 2:15 p.m. Monday Aug. 20, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Combass and Bro. Todd Babione officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1PM – 2PM, prior to the service. All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, the Christian Advent Village, or to a charity of choice.

Marvin Lee Fletcher

Aug. 14, 2012

 

Marvin Lee Fletcher, 86, Mayo, FL passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012.

The Tift County, GA native moved to Mayo in 1996 and was a Veteran of WWII while serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife: Virginia Fletcher, Mayo, FL; step-daughter: Marilyn McCarty, OK; one son: Wayne Fletcher, Mayo, FL; step-sons: Billy Norwood, Mayo, FL, Randy Taylor, TN; sister: Louise Stone, Lakeland, FL; two brothers: Robert Fletcher, Lakeland, FL, Leon Fletcher, Williston, FL; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL with officiating. 

Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Live Oak and Branford, FL in charge of arrangements.
