Mayo — Dorothy Margaret Folsom

Dorothy Margaret Folsom, age 90, passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at The Health Center of Lake City. She was a native and lifelong resident of Mayo, Florida, and was the daughter of the late Buchanan H. Folsom Sr. and the late former Eula Irene Whitfield Folsom. Mrs. Folsom was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a Caretaker in Home Health where she retired in 1996. In her spare time she enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Folsom was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford E. Folsom in 1967, and two sons; Joseph Edward Folsom and Buchanan Ezra Folsom.

She is survived by (2) sons; W. E. Folsom, Jr. of Buford, Ga., and Edgar Folsom Sr. of Mayo, Fla., (2) sisters; Sarah Powell of Pensacola, Fla., and Maxine Newlan of Summerville, Fla., (8) grandchildren, and (12) great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services were held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Bro. Todd Babione officiating. Family received friends starting at 2 p.m. (1 hour prior to the service) at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
