Mayo — James Robert “Jim” Patterson Jr.

Oct. 6, 1951 - March 10, 2012



James Robert “Jim” Patterson Jr. passed away Saturday, March 10 at his home after a short illness.

Jim was born Oct. 6, 1951 to James R. Patterson Sr. and Marcetta Nellis Patterson in Flint, Michigan. He moved to Florida at the age of two and to Suwannee County in 1991. He was a carpenter by trade.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean Patterson, two sons, Peter Patterson and Steven Patterson (Cansas) and granddaughter, Darci, who is expected to enter this world in a few weeks.

One sister, Sharon (James) Cresley of Lee, Florida, two brothers, John (Beth) Davis of Jasper, Florida, and Roger (Carolyn) Davis of Live Oak, Florida. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

There are no local services planned at this time. His ashes will be scattered in the place he loved the most. Final arrangements by ICS Cremation & Funeral Home. 386-752-3436.

Danny Carroll Walker

June 18, 1956 - March 8, 2012

Danny Carroll Walker, age 55, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, due to injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. Mr. Walker was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette County, and was born in Live Oak, Florida, to Windon Walker and the former Betty Newsome. He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church and was past owner of NAPA Auto Parts in Ft. White.  He was most recently employed by Dept. of Corrections Mayo Facility as a corrections officer.  In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Gator fan, and as a young man he enjoyed rodeo, motorcycles and restoring old autos.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger “Dale” Walker.

Survived by his parents, Windon and Betty Walker, of Mayo, Fla., a son; Adam Walker and wife Andrea, of Mayo, Fla., a daughter, Amy Swann and husband Lance, of Jacksonville, Fla., a brother; Darrell Walker and wife Lisa, of Mayo, Fla., (4) grandchildren; Emma Swann, Ella Swann, Avery Walker, and Anna Walker, a niece and nephew, host of cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Midway Baptist Church on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Danny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Burns Mayo Chapel from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
