Mayo — Samuel Luther Fanning, Jr.

Oct. 21, 2011



Samuel Luther Fanning, Jr. age 91, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Shands of Live Oak.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Fla. with visitation after the service. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011at Lakeside Memorial Park, Winter Haven, Florida.

He moved  to Mayo in 2006 coming from Winter Haven, Florida. He was a member of Winter Haven Masonic Lodge #186 and was in the US army Air Corp.

He was a member of Brewer Lake Baptist Church.

He is survived by 1 son: Sam Luther Fanning III of Lakeland, Florida; 1 daughter: Sandra Baldwin of Mayo; and 1 granddaughter: Dr. Lora Elizabeth Baldwin.

John Henry Bell

July 11, 1930 - Oct. 31, 2011



John Henry Bell, 81, of Day, Fla., passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 in the Lafayette Health   Care Center, Mayo, Fla. The lifelong resident was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, 37 year retired operations manager for Proctor and Gamble, Perry, Fla., a 12 year Lafayette County School Board member and a member of the Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Jean Bell, Day, Fla.; two sons: John T. and Judy Bell, Day, Fla. and Patrick and Kandra Bell, Tallahassee, Fla.; one sister: Ira Goodwin, Day, Fla.; two grandsons: John Patrick and Timothy David; two step granddaughters: Anna and Holly.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at the Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Fla., with Rev. Matt Swain and Rev. John Bracken officiating. Interment will follow in the Day cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family wish donations be made to the Lafayette Health Care Center or the Baptist Children’s Home.

Daniels Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., of Live Oak and Branford, FL was in charge of arrangements.
