Hornets corral Blue Wave

Mayo — Lafayette handed Gainesville PK Yonge 37-20 in its annual spring game.

Coach Joey Pearson's defense came up big in the game with multiple interceptions, while allowing just two offensive touchdowns.

Lafayette jumped on PK Yonge early and never looked back.

Pearson's team will now play some 7-on-7 games in the summer and attend some camps before starting practice August 9.

The Hornets will travel to Taylor County August 27 in the kickoff classic before opening the regular season the following week.
