Cocaine

VALDOSTA — Police arrested two Valdosta residents Sunday on drug charges.

Around 12:05 p.m., an officer spotted a stolen vehicle parked at a gas pump at a store in the 500 block of North St. Augustine Road, a Valdosta Police Department statement said.

Police detained the occupants and found cocaine inside the car. The driver — later identified as a 20-year-old Valdosta woman — refused to give her name to officers at the time. She was charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects, the statement said.

A passenger — described as a 24-year-old Valdosta man — was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug-related items.

“This was great work by a very observant officer. As soon as he saw the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen, he quickly took action,” said Police Chief Leslie Manahan
