Gary Brookins, 48, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away on Dec. 25, 2011 in Gainesville, Fla.
The Milledgeville, Ga. native was affectionately known as the ‘The Watch Man’, for repairing clocks and watches, who enjoyed flea markets and loved children. Gary never met a stranger, loved God and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his father: Ralph Brookins Jr. & Cathy, Milledgeville, Ga.; his mother: Betty Brookins, Live Oak, Fla.; sister: Deborah Brookins Coleman, Nashville, Ga.; two brothers: Richard Brookins and Russell Brookins, both of Live Oak, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at Betty’s home where all friends and family are invited to visit and share memories.

Mrs. Juanita Carter, a resident of the Ft. Union Community, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at Suwannee Health Care Center.
Mrs. Carter is survived by three children, Clifford Brown, Dore D. Brown and Elsie Brown; grandchildren; one sister, Imogene Ivey; two nieces, Chappella Hill and Kassandra Mathews; one nephew, Joseph Sermons; many other close relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be held Dec. 31, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the Hopewell Baptist Church, Rev. Gandy, pastor. Burial will be in the Ft. Union Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at 6 p.m. at D.M. Udell Funeral Home.
