Morris Holland Jackson
Mr. Morris Holland Jackson, 72, of Mayo, FL, passed away Monday October 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1940 to the late William Cleveland Jackson, and the late, Mary Johnson Jackson. He has been a lifelong resident of Lafayette County and was a member of Airline Baptist Church. Mr. Jackson was a dairy farmer and the owner and operator of Morris Jackson and Son’s Dairy. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, watching westerns, visiting with friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Mary Johnson Jackson, 2 sisters, Eloise Jackson, and Edna Faye Jackson Shaw, and a brother, Ellis “Buck” Jackson.
He is survived by, his wife of almost 46 years, Eliza Lou Lyons Jackson, of Mayo, 3 sons, Scott Jackson, and wife Jackie, Shawn Jackson, and wife Leah, and Seth Jackson, and wife Kemi, all of Mayo., 1 brother Foye Jackson, and wife Barbara, 1 sister, Dorothy Wimberly, and husband Elton, all of Mayo, 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Dawson, Ty, Tate, and Holland, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jackson will be held at Airline Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday November 1, 2012 with Bro. Chip Parker, Bro. Ricky Lyons, and Bro. Jimmy Corbin officiating. Interment will take place in Airline Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service. James Edward Koon

James Edward Koon, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Mr. Koon was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette County, Florida, and was the son of the late Alfred Herman Koon and the late former Loycell Forehand. Mr. Koon was an active member of the Mayo Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He was a Loving and Devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Koon was a longtime Dairy farmer and also worked for many years with the Farmers Co-op in Live Oak. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking for his friends and family, farming and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Winburn Koon, of Mayo, (2) sons, Michael Edward Koon, James Kevin Koon and wife Sonya, a daughter, Cynthia Jane Clay, and husband Ben, one sister, Louise Koon Hewett, and husband Charles, all of Mayo, FL, (10) grandchildren, (1) great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at Mayo Baptist Church on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 4:00 pm with Bro. Chip Parker, Bro. David McMullen and Bro. Rick James officiating. Interment will follow in Airline Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service starting at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mayo Baptist Church Future Growth Fund or the Airline Baptist Church Building Fund.

Mr.William Carroll McCray, 82, of mayo, FL passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL, following an extended illness. Mr. McCray was born July 24, 1930 in New Smyrna Beach, FL to the late Willie McCray, and the late former Juanita Alice Thompson and has been a resident of Mayo since 1974, after moving from Cocoa, FL. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Mayo Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. McCray retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Air Force where he served in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He also worked and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections. He was a member of the Mayo Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, the Lafayette County Development Authority, and the Lafayette Quarterback Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Mr. McCray is survived by, his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Burtoft McCray, of Mayo, 2 sons, William “Jeff” McCray, and wife Myrtice, of Perry, FL, and Michael A. McCray, and wife Cindy, of Mayo, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mr. McCray will be conducted at 3:00PM Tuesday October 30, 2012 at Mayo Baptist Church with Rev. Rick James and Bro. Ricky Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mayo Baptist Church Future Growth Fund.
