Ruby Lee Smith, age 90, of Jasper, Florida passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Shands Hospital in Live Oak, Florida. Born on November 19, 1919 in Norman Park, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Mr. James White and Mrs. Annie Bostick.
Mrs. Smith was affectionately known as "Ma'Dear" by her daughters, "Mama" by her grandchildren and "Mrs. Ruby" by her many friends. She was a homemaker and one of the oldest members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She also was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters Margaret McCarthy, Katie Billington, and Gloria Williams. The Lord blessed her with 15 grandchildren (3 deceased), 37 great-grandchildren, (1 deceased), 14 great-great grandchildren (2 deceased). She also had several relatives and many, many friends.
Special thanks to all those who knew and cared for our dear mother, grandmother.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements were by Eric A. Brown & Son Funeral Homes, Inc.
