Jasper — Gussie Amerson Robinson

Gussie Amerson Robinson, age 91, of Jasper, FL. passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following an illness of some time. Ms. Robinson was born east of Jasper in 1918 to the late John and Nellie Bass Amerson. Ms. Gussie was a homemaker that was not afraid of work. Nothing was too big or too small for her to take on. She was a member of Jasper Assembly of God Church. Ms. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Robinson and her son, Kirby Robinson, Jr.

Survivors include, one son, Tommy Joe Robinson, Jasper, FL.; seven daughters, Myrtle Smith, Jasper, FL., Betty Jean Land, Dowling Park, FL., Nellie Robinson, Angie Padgett, Jan Hunter, and Janice Smith, all of Jasper and Brenda Thompson, Sylvania, GA.; one brother, Robert Amerson, Jasper, FL.; one sister, Eva Combass, Apopka, FL.; 30 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Jasper Assembly of God Church. Interment followed in Prospect Cemetery near Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 West US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL. 32055.
