Live Oak —
We lost two Suwannee County residents at the end of October within days of each other to fatal traffic incidents. We will add these statistics to the six others that have died from traffic related incidents since September. That averages to about one death for every week of those two months.
You’ve heard it before and we will say it again. Slow down, be aware of your surroundings and please wear those seatbelts. Two of the fatalities involved pedestrians. So seatbelts would not have mattered. However, there are those wrecks that we have reported on that we just can’t help but believe that wearing a seatbelt would have made the difference.
We will never know.
If you are a constant reader to the Democrat you will know that with every wreck we write about, we state whether the injured was wearing a seatbelt or not. If you read that before and it made you buckle up, thanks.
