Live Oak — I just want to rave about the man who did 185th road with the grader on 1/11/12. Normally the effects are gone within a day or two, but this guy did a really great job and smoothed out things that haven't been smooth in months! Great job!!!

I am responding to the person who saw and heard the thin little boy in the store make a comment that he was “beat” by his daddy because he loved him. What did you do? You heard it, you were standing next to him, and you saw who he was with. Did you write down a tag number, ask him his name, or ask the person he was with for their name? I am a teacher in Suwannee County and believe me when I say that if I suspect, much less hear, that something isn’t right with a child, I react. While I understand your position and I applaud you for your observation, perhaps you should have been his defense before asking others why they haven’t.

When did Florida driving laws change that give motorists a license to ignore STOP signs? I have seen many near-miss accidents in my neighborhood alone. Just because you are driving through a quiet, residential neighborhood, it doesn't mean that another vehicle might not be approaching the same intersection at the same time as you. If not another motorist, it could be a child on a bicycle, a jogger, a mother pushing a baby stroller or even a dog running loose that you have the potential to hit with that 1 ton pickup or 1/2 ton car. How would you feel if you killed an innocent person or animal? Not good, I'm sure. Please obey traffic laws. Come to a complete stop and don't just roll through intersections. Someone's life may just hang in the balance.
