Whine, Whine, Whine.....I am so glad that they passed the referendum to make Suwannee County wet so now I can go to the liquor store, buy me something to drink, and it will ease all the whining from senseless, non-spelling, uneducated souls that have nothing better to do with their lives then to Rant and Rave and sit at home and collect their unemployment check. Viva Live Oak...

I was in a store and two small children was standing by the candy machines talking and the thin little boy told the little girl that he gets beat and slapped but only because his daddy loves him and the little girl says ya I know. well what kind of love is this.Wheres the line of defense for theses babies. What about teachers, counselors somebody because its not the parents. these children had to be prek or no more than 1st grade

Funny thing, didn't see nothing about politics in the letters about literacy. Why is everything left or right? How about some common sense, middle of the road approaches? Lack of this is what's crippling our country in this day & age. Better education wouldn't hurt either!

This is in reference to the Democrat printing stories pertaining to law enforcement. When there is an article about a crime being solved, the Democrat never publishes the name of the officer who solved the crime or made the case. The Democrat always says the report show or authorities state. If you have a copy of the report then you have the officer’s name. These officers do a very important and dangerous job with little or no credit. How about giving the officers some praise and credit when you write your article. The reporter always print their bylines taking credit for writing the article, so let’s acknowledge the individual officer and give them some credit.
From the editor: You are right. Law enforcement officials do a job that most of us wouldn’t or couldn’t do. They put their lives on the line to keep us safe. The reports we get don’t always have the name of the arresting official. Sometimes the arresting official is not the one who wrote the report.

I have lived in many different states but none that did not have a leash law. Dogs can run around Suwannee County any time day or night. If you call Animal control, you are told to ask the owner to keep their dog at home. That doesn't work. The dog still come's into my yard and does his/her business. If I wanted a dog to do his business in my yard, I would get a dog.

It's doubtful that liberals or conservatives have a monopoly on narrow minded opinions. Learning the ABC's is not a political issue! Knowledge is power, ask a teacher or a journalist, regardless of their social or political leanings!!!

Have you noticed all of the recent land-clearing in Suwannee County? That tells me investors are optimistic about the future and implementing actions which they expect will increase the economic activities here so they can make more money! Now, if we can just stop the county commissioners from trying to be developers/speculators with our tax dollars.

6:30, Monday night eastbound Pinewood Drive in front of Winn-Dixie. School zone, speed limit, 20 miles an hour flashing. Is this really necessary?

The person who has nothing better to do with their time than to pick apart a message on their utility bill. Did it ever cross your mind that it is very easy to make a mistake concerning the year when you are going into a new year. You are the illiterate one because you are simple minded and judgmental of others and if you are embarrassed by the mistake then go down to City Hall and tell them about it and find out if what that employee has to go through when they are making that message up because I would bet you anything that their job is not just making up messages for your utility bills. You need to research certain things before you are shooting off the mouth about something you no nothing about. And when you get off of City Hall and (inaudible) for the county, you might find a lot of dirt there.
