Trailer tips, spills feed on South Ohio Avenue

Live Oak — A tractor trailer loaded with feed tipped on South Ohio Avenue (US 129) Monday afternoon, spilling feed onto the roadway.

At about 4:30 p.m., the Live Oak Police Department was dispatched to the accident that occurred in front of the Verizon Store on South Ohio Avenue, across the road from Pizza Hut.

According to sources, the truck hauling the trailer, belonging to Howland Feed Mill Inc., was having difficulties. The driver was in the process of hooking the trailer up to another truck when the pavement gave way, causing the truck to tip on South Ohio Avenue. The trailer knocked down a street light that blocked over two lanes of traffic.
