Scott Collins to be honored with fireman's final farewell ceremony

Live Oak — On Tuesday, Nov. 20, Suwannee County will say goodbye to Fireman Scott Collins. In this farewell, the Live Oak Fire Department will honor Collins with a fireman’s funeral.

The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. The honor guard will do a flag presentation with musical instrumentation using bagpipes.

Fire trucks will lead the procession from the First United Methodist Church to Live Oak Cemetery. At the graveside service, a final call will be made to FD 8, Collins’ department number and a fly over by Shands will take place.

“We will be retiring his department number as well,” Fire Chief Chad Croft said. “No one else will ever be number eight.”
