Fugitive returned to Live Oak faces multiple charges

Live Oak — A Jacksonville man has been returned to Suwannee County to face multiple charges stemming from a high speed chase that began in Live Oak, according to records from the Live Oak Police Department.

David Foglesong, 37, Jacksonville, was operating a vehicle with excessively dark window tinting on Walker Avenue in Live Oak around 9:44 p.m., Jan. 13, when he drove over lane markings while turning westbound onto U.S. 90. According to reports from LOPD, authorities attempted to stop Foglesong, but he refused to stop his vehicle and accelerated to high rates of speed. Reports show that while in the vicinity of of Wayne Frier’s Mobile Home Park, Foglesong threw an item from his window toward the south side of the roadway.

Authorities say that during the course of fleeing, Foglesong drove in the wrong lane of travel with low visibility, passed vehicles still on the road and exceeded 120 miles per hour.

Upon terminating the traffic stop, authorities found the item Foglesong threw from his window and discovered it was a glass measuring cup and a metal whisk, both having cocaine. According to reports, these items are common with the manufacturing of crack cocaine from powder cocaine.

According to the LOPD, Foglesong was returned to Suwannee County and booked into the Suwannee County Jail on June 10. He has been charged with fleeing during a high speed pursuit, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
