Wildfire in Lafayette County off near Hines Highway and South Canal (STR 15/7S/12E);
The L.A. Bennett Wildfire started at 50 acres near Hines Highway. The wildfire Jumped South Canal and was upgraded to 100+ acres and continued to grow. Crews continue to work toward slowing the spread and containing the fire. The size is now up to 300+ acres.
