Live Oak — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon after walking into traffic on Ohio Avenue North (US 129), according to Live Oak Police Det. Justin Bates.

Bates said the identity of the person is unknown at this time.

Around 12 p.m., the man stepped off the curb at the southbound lanes of Ohio Avenue and Andra Davis Lane, walking east. Bates said witnesses reported he had his head down and made it to the northbound lanes when he was struck by the pickup.
