Live Oak —
A Live Oak man faces multiple drug charges following a controlled investigation by the Suwannee County Drug Task Force, records from the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office show.
Michael Jerome Brown, 38, 215 Horne Ave., Live Oak, was arrested on May 8 after being positively identified as selling marijuana and cocaine to a confidential source.
Authorities say that on one separate occasion, Brown sold marijuana and cocaine within 1,000 feet of a place of worship. On another occasion, Brown sold marijuana within 1,000 feet of a place of worship and within 1,000 feet of a licensed child care facility.
Brown also reportedly sold marijuana on another occasion within 1,000 feet of a place of worship, authorities say.
According to the SCSO, Brown was arrested for four counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, one count of the sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a licensed childcare facility, three counts of the sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a church, and one count of the sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church.

The Great Suwannee River gets underway this Saturday at Little River Spring with rafts, canoes and kayaks racing to Ivey Park in Branford. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Live Oak and the Rotary Club of Live Oak, the race is in its fourth year. Racing starts at 10 a.m. and awards will be given out at 1 p.m. Come join this group of fun seekers as they make their way anyway they can to the finish line.
