Saturday evening, under dark, crystal-clear skies, members of the Alachua Astronomy Club were guests at the observatory and observing field of club members, Fred and Lucille Heinrich of Suwannee County. Club member David Liles, also of Suwannee County, helped the Heinrichs host this “star party” by bringing his portable “Skyshed Pod” observatory to the event. Many of the club members brought their own telescopes and observing continued well into the late hours with some members even camping out for the night so they could view celestial objects that rise in the early morning hours.
