Breanna Marie Fernald, age 8, a second grader, received Honorable Mention for her story titled The Butterfly in the 15th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest, hosted by WUFT of Gainesville.
Out of the 200 entries, eight were chosen. Breanna is the first entrant from Suwannee County to have ever placed in the contest.
