Live Oak —
Verizon Wireless today launched its most advanced 4G LTE Wireless technology in Lake City and Live Oak to give residents, businesses and travelers in this largely rural area access to the nation’s fastest 4G wireless network.
These new 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/Long-Term Evolution) launches provide seamless coverage with the most advanced wireless technology across the important Interstate 10 corridor in North Florida from I-75 to Jacksonville.
Verizon Wireless introduced 4G LTE in the core areas of Jacksonville and numerous other large Florida markets beginning in December 2010, and has been rapidly expanding the service ever since.
Verizon Wireless is the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, offering more coverage than all other U.S. wireless providers combined. Verizon’s 4G LTE network is available in more than 410 markets across the country, surpassing the company’s goal to cover 400 markets by the end of 2012.
“Wireless consumers in North Florida are very tech-savvy and will quickly recognize the speed and power of 4G LTE,” said Pam Tope, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless. “We’re proud to provide these advanced technologies, services and products for customers in Lake City, Live Oak and across the state.”
To date, Verizon Wireless has introduced 37 4G LTE-enabled devices, including smartphones, tablets, personal Wi-Fi hotspots and more since the network launched 22 months ago. Verizon Wireless customers can choose from the largest selection of 4G LTE devices and solutions to experience the nation’s fastest 4G network. The newest 4G LTE devices include the DROID RAZR™ M by Motorola and the Samsung Galaxy S® III.
In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should expect to experience average data rates of 5 to12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
