The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch in effect for our area from 1 p.m. to day through 6 p.m. Friday, and from late Friday night through Saturday morning.
Gusty southwest winds will develop this afternoon and continue this evening then will shift to the northwest after midnight and continue strong and gusty on Friday.
Southwest winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon and evening then shift to the northwest and continuing into Friday. Winds may gust up to 35 mph at times.
Lows will fall into the mid and upper 20s for inland locations by the predawn hours on Saturday. Durations of sub-freezing temperatures of up to six hours are possible in colder locations.
In addition, a slight risk of severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon through the evening hours.
A squall line of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms will move across the southeastern states today. This activity will move into interior southeast Georgia and western portions of the Suwannee Valley during the late afternoon and early evening hours and will then quickly traverse the rest of the northeast Florida this evening.
