Live Oak —
On Saturday March 5 in Live Oak, Suwannee County events were held at the Suwannee Agricultural Complex. Taylor Millikan, Branford 4-H, won a blue ribbon and medallion for a perfect score on her illustrated talk on biotechnology in agriculture, specifically speaking on reproductive biotechnology in cattle. She will move onto district events on Saturday May 7 at University of Florida.
She was also active in showing her Angus cattle at the Suwannee County Fair this year. She placed first in weight gain for her steer, with an average daily gain of 5.256 pounds per day. She also placed first in the carcass contest of her steer this year as well. She won first place senior record book for her heifer and second place in the Jr. Cattleman award for her knowledge in the beef industry.
Taylor is a freshman at Branford High School and is the president of the Branford 4-H Club and a member of Branford FFA Chapter, where she served as this years Creed Speaker.
Taylor is the daughter of Dan and Erica Olson of Branford.
