Jackson’s big nomination

Melody Christian Academy’s Shawn Jackson was one of 5,000 athletes across the nation to be nominated for McDonald’s Basketball All American Team. Jackson is one of 250 players to have made the cut. He will receive a reward for being nominated on Feb. 5, when the Wildcats host Taylor County. The game is set for 7 p.m. at the Church of God in Live Oak. McDonald’s All American Team, which will include 24 players out of the 250 nominated, will be announced Feb. 12. Jackson is averaging 21 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocks for the season.
