SHS softball: Ladies take #2 seed in district

Shut out Rickards, fall to Wakulla

Live Oak — The Suwannee Bulldogs softball team took the number two seed in District 2-5A after last week’s final district games.

The ladies shut out Rickards Thursday by a score of 6-0 but fell to Wakulla on Friday, and losing the number one seed spot, by a score of 3-1.

“It puts us as the number two seed. Wakulla is number one,” said head softball coach Tommy Chambers. “So on April 16, we will play Rickards here at 7 p.m. and the winner will play Wakulla on the eighteenth here at 7 p.m.”

The team has its student body game on Thursday at 1:45 p.m. against a strong team, Lafayette.
JV will play following that game.

On Friday, the team travels to Madison to take on the Cowgirls at 7 p.m. before the start of spring break.
The team is still dealing with injuries, but Chambers is hoping the break will help.

“Hopefully all of our injuries will have a chance to heal over the break and we can have good weeks heading into district play,” said Chambers.
