Live Oak —
Senior SHS boys basketball player Tony Frierson is currently on the sideline as his team finishes the regular season, following a knee injury during the game Friday night in Madison County.
Frierson jumped up for the final rebound in the game, in which the Dogs only had a narrow margin of victory. Frierson’s rebound secured the win for Suwannee as he came down and held the ball for the clock to run out. However, other adjacent players also going up for the rebound tumbled into and injured his right knee. Frierson was taken to the hospital that night for x-rays and is currently awaiting an MRI.
Frierson is a starting guard for the Bulldogs and averages 12.2 points per game as the team’s second leading scorer. He is currently second in the district in individual free throw percentage and third in overall points per game. The injury comes two weeks before the ‘Dogs will enter the district championship and the playoffs.
