Live Oak —
Suwannee Spirit Cheer Gym of Live Oak competed at The State Cheer & Dance Championships in Daytona Beach Jan. 12 and 13.
Thousands of cheerleaders, dancers and spectators from all over Florida traveled to Daytona Beach to compete in one of the most prestigious competitions held each year. Forty-seven cheerleaders, three teams, three coaches and over 250 fans represented Suwannee Spirit.
The Suwannee Spirit Diamond squad competed in the level 3 senior small division. They received a superior rating and placed sixth. The Suwannee Spirit Pre-Elite squad competed in the level 2 junior small division, also receiving a superior rating and placed sixth. The Suwannee Spirit Emerald squad competed in the level 2 youth small division and received a superior rating placing fourth.
This was the second of six competitions that Suwannee Spirit has competed in this season. Each squad will compete three more times and try to qualify for a bid to the national championships held in April.
Congratulations to all of the competition cheerleaders of Suwannee Spirit.
