Softball: Ladies lose three

Live Oak — The Suwannee High School Bulldogs lost their last three games as of Wednesday, April 11, bringing their record to 12-7 and 4-0 in district play.

On March 30, the Lady Bulldogs played back-to-back games. First up was visitor Heyward Academy which nipped the Bulldogs 7-1 in a non-league challenge. The Rebels record following the bout was 13-1.

Suwannee’s Stacey Owens added the only run for Suwannee.

Following that match, the ladies took on the Bluffton Bobcats. The Bobcats scored five points and limited host Suwannee to three in this non-league match. Bluffton moved its record to 9-0 following the game.

Nicole Roper, Shayla Kicklighter and Jessie Tenbroeck each added a run for the Bulldogs. Haejin Choe and Roper each secured one RBI each.

On Tuesday, April 10, the Bulldogs fell to Lafayette High School 4-3.

Tenbroeck led in scoring with two followed by Kicklighter who added one. Choe had one RBI while Timberly Steichen had two.

The Bulldogs took on the Williston Red Devils on Thursday, April 12. While the Bulldogs go into the match 12-7, the Red Devils go in 3-14. The game begins at 7 p.m. in Live Oak.

The district tournament in on Tuesday, April 17 with Wakulla playing Rickards at 5 p.m. Suwannee will play the winner at 7 p.m. for the championship.

If the district tournament is won by Suwannee, the playoff game will be played at home on April 25. If Suwannee loses, the team will have to travel to the panhandle.
