Live Oak —
The Suwannee High School boys and girls track teams took first place at the Santa Fe Invitational on Saturday making the girls team undefeated. This is also the second meet in a row for both teams taking first place.
The girls team won at the St. John’s Invitational. Coach Eric Rodriguez said the talent was very close. The final scores were: Union Co. 15, Fl. School for the deaf 21, Trinity Christian 77, Clay Co. 111, St. Johns 147, Suwannee 150.
“It came down to the last two events. We needed a good showing by our two milers. Katie Stalvey placed third and Merrideth Lord placed fifth.” said coach Eric Rodriguez.
“Our 4 by 400 relay team had to place well to secure the victory. The team of Anna Wright, Mandy Glass, Kenyona Williams and Kierra Cherry had their best time of the season and placed third.”
The following girls won their events:
Logan Boss High Jump, Triple Jump, Low and High hurdles
Mandy Glass Pole Vault
Kyra McClendon mile
