ACV celebrating 100 years (+ video)

Live Oak — Rotarians at the Rotary Club of Live Oak meeting this week were transported back in time as Advent Christian Village (ACV) President Craig Carter and Dick Grillo told them about the founding of the ACV in both word and song.

The Village turns 100 this year and they have many activities planned to showcase the faith and endurance it took to bring this facility to its current state. In 1913 ACV started out as an orphanage when they took in four children, a year later it took in its first retiree. Over the years with the support of many Advent Christian churches across the country and by taking slightly different forms of services the ACV has grown to approximately 720 residents.

For more information on ACV go to its web site at acvillage.net.
