A kitchen fire broke out in a single apartment at the Smith Riverview apartment complex at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park around 7 p.m., Wednesday.
No injuries were reported in the blaze that spread into the apartment’s cabinets and ceiling.
Suwannee County Interim Safety Director James Sommers said that the fire was contained to the one apartment and extinguished upon arrival of firefighters. According to Sommers, five fire stations responded to the blaze and he commended all of them for their success in quickly extinguishing the fire.
