Early voting ends Saturday

Live Oak — As of Friday afternoon, 929 early voters had cast their ballots for the Aug. 14 primary election, Supervisor of Elections Glenda Williams said. Of those, 167 were cast in Branford. Early voting began Saturday and ends Saturday.

According to Williams, early voting for the primary election will continue through Aug. 11. The hours for early voting on Aug. 11 will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The hours for early voting through Aug. 10 will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Early voting will be held at the elections office and the Branford Library, Williams said.

“We got a lot going on, not just nationally, but locally too,” Williams said. “People need to have a say in who leads our county.”

The books have been closed and change of party affiliation cannot be made until after the primary election. However, eligible citizens can still register to vote. For more information about the upcoming elections, voter registration, absentee voting and early voting, please contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at (386) 362-2616 or visit them on the web at www.suwanneevotes.com.

Residents are reminded that the Supervisor of Elections office has been relocated to the old train depot at 210 N Ohio Ave. due to the recent flood.
