Heres's a rave to SVEC for during the rains/flood they kept the electric on. Thanks

In hindsight maybe it was a bad idea to allow the new County Administrator to also be the Public Works Director. On a slow day when there is not much going on that plan probably works. But when you get hit by a Tropical Storm the citizens need a Public Works Director who can focus attention on restoring roads and other services quickly. I am not convinced that this guy can do one job well, let alone two jobs.

Can you three smart guys who voted for our County Administrator please explain the snafu with the way he described the Library closure and repairs. Did your guy lie about it or were his remarks out of his incompetence? Either way all four of you look dumb because of it. I doubt that we will ever get a clear public explanation of what happened. And don’t you guys dare throw the nice Library lady under the bus.

I would like the Suwannee Democrat to check on how they are going about getting each road repaired if it’s favoritism or what. That’s tlike the county commissioner for the McAlpin area, his road was fixed within the first day and it was under water but the county road department will tell you they can’t do nothing right now cause they’re water on the road not anything they put in there can mix with the mud but beside the little river that runs along the commissioners place it was about a foot deep and they sure put lime rock off where he could have a super highway by his house. Thank you. I hope the voters remember when election time comes. Bye.

I was wondering, When is the city planning on picking up all the piles of contaminated garbage? Dog poop threatens contaminating the soil, but huge piles of trash soaked in raw sewage don't, but that is Live Oak for you.

First we read about all of the government waste in Washington and Tallahassee. Now we read about all of the overtime being paid at City Hall. Good to know that we can keep pace with the rest of the country on the local level.

At the Rotary meeting on Monday, July 16, Mr. Lee Chauncey, Republican Candidate for BOCC, Dist. 1, praised and came just short of endorsing Jesse Caruthers, Dem. Candidate for BOCC, Dist. 1.
If he's doing such a fine job, why are you running against him? Or are you?

i would like to remind all the good people in suwannee cty. that has had no help from the county during the flood, we can and should vote all these comm. out. would someone please show wainwrite where his district 5 is, cause he sure don't know. y'all need to get out of live oak and see the rest of the county, CAUSE IT'S A REAL MESS.. we still have roads that are flooded and wahsouts that are impassable..y'all really missed the boat on this, but at least the good people of live oak are ok, and that is all that really counts

If residents cannot dump construction waste in the local dump sites, what are they supposed to do? My neighbor is having to rip out most of their home and was told by county commissioners that the commission had decided not to allow construction waste at these sites and apparently you have to have a permit to dump at the landfill...come on what are these poor people supposed to do with stuff damaged by the flood. The commissioners, I feel, need to get a grip on what has happened to the voters of this county and get back to reality on what is right.

I am very angry about this overtime fiasco at City Hall. They were closed for half the week and yet the City doled-out overtime pay. Give me a break. I wouldn’t be surprised if all of the employees also got paid for the days they were closed. No one in the private sector could afford that. The Council needs to change this costly pattern.
