Live Oak — Arc North Florida Lawnmower Race


The Arc North Florida will hold its 15th Annual Lawnmower Race Saturday at John’s Lawn Equipment in Live Oak. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration, followed by the race at 10 a.m. This event is held each year to promote awareness of the needs of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the local community. The race serves as a fundraiser to compensate program expenses not reimbursed by state and federal programs.


The race will be held at 1629 Ohio Avenue North, Live Oak. John’s Lawn Equipment will provide lawnmowers for teams or individuals to use for the race. This year’s racing event is in conjunction with John’s Lawn Equipment’s Customer Appreciation Day. The Boys Scouts will be selling lunch from 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. If rained out, event will be on April 6.



SHS theater production


The Suwannee High School Drama Troupe spring musical, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” begins tonight at 7 p.m. The show will also be presented Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door. 





Haven Hospice Celebration of Life event


Haven Hospice is having their first-ever Celebration of Life in Branford at Hatch Park and Community Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Make sure you bring the kids or grandkids as many of the activities are for them. There will be an egg hunt, bounce houses, a slide, arts and crafts and more.


Free lunch for the first 600 attendees and there will also be free cotton candy and popcorn. A DJ will be there to keep the music going.
