Rant & Rave - Jan. 11, 2013

Live Oak — Just wondering if the district would ever consider Michael Pittman as the head football coach if that position becomes available. Mike coached the Suwannee Bulldogs to four AAA State Championships from 87-90. Those were some of the most exciting years in the history of Suwannee High School athletics. Coach Pittman knows his football.

Jeremy Ulmer and his wife Julie have worked very diligently to bring back the Suwannee Bulldog Boys Varsity program to a very respectable level. Tonight, the SHS team beat district rival Rickards High School out of Tallahassee. If you have not attended a game this season, you are missing some GREAT high school basketball.

TO City of Live Oak:  Thanks, by the non-enforcement of your various ordinances, you have given us permission to do things which your predecessors felt should not be done within the city limits!  Just how do you decide which ordinance will or will not be enforced?

Our country is several TRILLIONS in debt.  Since Congress will not cut spending adequately to reduce or eliminate this debt, its only other option is to increase taxes for everyone, not just the super rich.  I hope you enjoy spending less!

I read in the paper about this, I don’t know what you’d call it. This idiotic plan about pumping reclaimed water back into the aquifer. I can’t believe that they’re wanting to do something like that. And I think the people need to get behind our elected officials and get a stop to this before it ever gets started. If it’s good enough to pump into the aquifer, then pump it straight back into the supply tanks and run it right back out. I don’t think it’ll meet them qualifications so it won’t meet qualifications to pump it right back in the aquifer. This is the dumbest thing I ever heard. We can’t pollute it enough from the top so now they going to start polluting from the bottom.

I agree with the person on taxing properties that are not the actual worship building. I am a religious person but it’s time for Live Oak to grow, which making it wet was a first start. Adding restaurants and stores and etc., maybe bring back the drive-in theater or skating rink for the young kids to do. Enough of the churches, banks and auto stores.

I noticed in the Friday paper that the bible verse was not in it. This is something that we all need everyday. It’s the word of God. Please keep it published every newspaper.

Yes, I sent a complaint in with Suwannee County animal control. I have called over a month ago about a dog on 120th Street right off of Hughes Road and I just recently called again. Nothing has been done about the dog. I am tired of having to go back and forth on that road and that dog just constantly chasing me. Please somebody help get rid of that dog.
