Mayo Dollar General store robbed

Mayo — The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a robbery of the Dollar General Store that occurred on Saturday, Jan.19.

LCSO responded to a call about a robbery at the Dollar General Store located at 488 West Main Street on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 5:05 p.m., according to Sheriff Brian Lamb.

Based on witness statements, Lamb said, the suspect was described as a thin, skinny built Hispanic male approximately 5’ 6” wearing jeans and a red jacket with attached red hood pulled up over his head. The subject appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s, with an unshaven face. 

Reports show the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled. No weapon was displayed and as of this time no arrests have been made. 

Anyone with information should contact the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office at 386-294-1222.  There is a monetary reward for information leading to an arrest, according to LCSO.
